Delirium Sauvignon Blanc

Colour: Pale yellow, sunshine in a glass!

Scents: Green apple, melon and a fresh zesty tang.

Taste: Tangy and very broad in scope, the mineral undertones of this wine make it quite intense on the tongue. Apple and lemon aftertaste, quite dry.

ABV: 13%

Thoughts: Yet another vineyard that hails from the Adelaide Hills in South Australia, this wine is incredibly drinkable and is ready right now – no need to let it sit for another year or two. It is representative of the majority of Sauv-Blancs coming out of the Adelaide Hills region – stronger in flavour than the New Zealand equivalents, but without going too close to the in-your-face intensity of a typical Chardonnay. The Delirium brand is actually one arm of the Nova Vita Wines company, also responsible for Mad Russian and Firebird, so these folk clearly know their stuff!

Overall rating: 4/5
